  • Convenience store customer holds soda bottle and considers whether or not to purchase it.
  • “Convenience” store with no visible pricing

Currently on a road trip. Stopped at a place for gas and a 1. I wanted to buy a snack, too- but literally nothing in the store had a price on it.
  • There were barcodes on the shelves, but no pricing info anywhere.
  • Woman looks concerned at lack of food price labels as she shops.
  • In this economy?? F____ that. I'm not buying something if I don't know how much it costs.
  • Yeah, I get this

(And no, I'm not gonna pester the poor cashier to know the price of whatever I'm looking at- that's just ridiculous.)
  • Customer at convenience store searches for price tag on a snack item.
  • Guess what? They're not the only person to encounter this problem. Here's what other people did:

CNAHopeful7 I would have thought this was made up had I not seen it myself one day. I refused to buy anything.
  • AtmosphereCree... Franchise convenience store where I usually buy energy drinks started doing this for one aisle. Pretty sure they intend to gradually roll it out to the entire store. I'm not usually a fussy guy, but if they keep this QR code nonsense, I intend to get my energy drinks from one of their competitors.
  • This person is onto something!

capjustcap Also check expiration date on shelved products in those little stores. I bought a Reeses that expired in 2021, this was just last week.
  • Davy_Ray They probably set this up this way in order to do surge pricing. So if there's a high demand for a certain product, they can raise the price on that one product for a specific time.
  • SirSkot72 And are they using "dynamic pricing" where higher demand during the day can change the price? F that
  • Glittering-Score-... I've noticed this in several convenience stores lately. If I want a bag or chips or something I alway bring it to the counter and ask how much it is.
